The chief executive of a fast food restaurant based in Louisiana made a big bet on the Mega Millions Lottery.
Todd Graves, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers’ CEO announced on Monday that he had bought 50,000 tickets for Tuesday night’s Mega Millions draw that he would share with his employees.
Cost of the tickets
A ticket in the Mega Millions lottery costs $2, which means that the CEO spend a whopping $100,000 on the lottery tickets.
The jackpot for the Mega Millions draw on Tuesday, July 26th had climbed to a whopping $810 million and had then been increased to $830 million because of the interest.
The founder of the chain, Graves said that he had spent $100,000 on the tickets and intended to split the prize with the employees in case of a win.
The co-CEO of Raising Cane, AJ Kumaran confirmed the same on Tuesday.
Reason for the buy
In a press release, Graves disclosed that he had decided to buy tickets for his employees because of the hard work they do and he knows that it would not be possible to run the business without them.
Graves said that as soon as he had heard how big the jackpot had gotten, he did not want to miss out on the opportunity of winning the Mega Millions jackpot and sharing it with his crew.
The CEO said that he hoped to give a surprise to his employees on Wednesday morning and wanted to bring some fun. He did not say if they would opt for the annuity option, or go for the cash prize in case of a win.

Unfortunately, no one was able to match the numbers to win the Mega Millions jackpot in Tuesday night’s draw. The numbers announced were 29, 63, 66, 7 and 60 with 15 being the Megaball.
