The Mega Millions lottery draw was held on Tuesday, August 23rd and the jackpot was worth $116 million.
The winning numbers for the draw were 03, 05, 47, 48 and 67 and 7 was the Mega Ball. The Megaplier was 2X.
Unfortunately, there were no winners for the $116 million jackpot, but other smaller prizes were paid out in the draw.
The next Mega Millions draw is now scheduled for August 26th, Friday and the jackpot has now rolled over to reach $135 million. It comes with a cash option of $75.8 million.
Texas winner
While there may not have been a winner for the grand prize, there were 49,000 people who were able to land prizes in the Lone Star State.
The winnings were between the value of $2 and $20,000. A lucky ticket holder was able to match four of the five numbers drawn on Tuesday, along with the Mega Ball.
This landed them a prize of $10,000, but since they opted for the Megaplier as well, they were able to double their winnings to $20,000.
Ohio winner
According to the Ohio Lottery Commission, there was a secondary prize winner in the Mega Millions lottery draw on Tuesday from Ohio.
The winning ticket won a whopping $1 million, but the commission said that the prize has not been claimed as yet.
The numbers were chosen by the lottery player through auto pick and they had bought the ticket just ahead of Tuesday night’s drawing.
It was purchased in Findlay at the Pak A Sak and the ticket holder was able to match the five winning numbers that were drawn.
All ticket holders have about 180 days from the date of the draw to collect their winnings.
The Mega Millions lottery is played in 45 states, along with the US Virgin Islands and the District of Colombia.
