The Mega Millions lottery draw took place on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 and it boasted an estimated jackpot of about $354 million that had a cash option of $189.3 million.
No jackpot claims
The winning numbers that were chosen in the Tuesday night’s drawing of the Mega Millions lottery were 15, 16, 19, 28 and 47, while 13 was the gold Mega Ball and 3X was the Megaplier.
Unfortunately, none of the players were successfully in matching the drawn numbers that would have helped them with the jackpot.
This means that the big prize is unclaimed and would be added to the next Mega Millions lottery jackpot.
The next draw of the Mega Millions lottery is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 9th and the jackpot for it has risen to $379 million that boasts a cash value of $202.6 million.
Smaller prizes
Even though there may not have been a grand prize winner in Tuesday night’s drawing of the Mega Millions lottery, there were other smaller monetary prizes that were definitely won.
One player was able to hit the Match 5, which means that they became an instant millionaire and won a prize of $1 million.
However, the lucky player from Mississippi had not bought the Megaplier with their lottery ticket, or else they would have seen their prize increase to $3 million.
Other than the lone instant millionaire, Tuesday night’s Mega Millions lottery drawing also saw 24 players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball that allowed them to win $10,000 each.
But, there were just 7 players who had hit the Match 4 and the gold Mega Ball and had also bought the Megaplier option. They saw their wins increase to $30,000 each.
The rest of the prizes from the Mega Millions lottery draw on Tuesday night were between $2 and $1,500.
Other wins
This latest lottery draw came after a Mega Millions winner from Virginia came forward to claim their prize of $1 million.
The winning ticket had been bought at the Salem Mini-Mart in Salem and a bonus of $10,000 would be paid to the business for selling the winning lottery ticket.
The lucky ticket had been purchased by Garland Hare before taking an overseas trip. Once he arrived at his destination, he came to know that he had become an instant millionaire.
Hare is planning on using his winnings to travel and to pay his bills. The Mega Millions lottery draws are conducted twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday.
Players from 45 states, the US Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia can participate.
