The Powerball lottery draw was held on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022 and had a jackpot of $134 million that had a cash option of $72.3 million.
No jackpot winners
The winning numbers in Wednesday night’s Powerball lottery drawing were 36, 51, 59, 66 and 68 and 25 was the red Powerball number, while 10X was the Power Play.
Unfortunately, there were no lucky players who were able to manage the six numbers required for winning the jackpot, which means that the prize will now roll over to the next drawing.
The next draw of the Powerball lottery is scheduled for Saturday, December 17th, 2022, which will now have a jackpot of about $149 million and it will come with a cash value of $80.4 million.
No instant millionaires
Not only did the Powerball lottery drawing on Wednesday night have no jackpot winners, but there were also no instant millionaires.
This means that none of the players participating in the Powerball lottery were able to hit the Match 5 that would have allowed them to win a prize of $1 million, or $2 million if they would have opted for the Power Play.
Other wins
Even if there were no big wins in the Wednesday night drawing of the Powerball lottery, there were smaller wins that were recorded.
A total of seven ticket holders were able to hit the Match 4 and the red Powerball number, which meant that they were able to win a prize of $50,000 each.
Furthermore, there were also two players who not only hit the Match 4 and the red Powerball, but also chose the Power Play option, which means that they were able to increase their winnings to $500,000.
Promotion
This latest drawing comes at a time when the promotion named Powerball First Millionaire of the Year would make a return to Times Square.
This means that a special drawing will be conducted by the lottery in accordance with its partnership with Dick Clark Productions.
Each of the 29 finalists will receive a prize of $1 million in the said drawing. The drawing will be conducted on ABC just after midnight ET on New Year’s Eve.
The Powerball lottery drawing is available for participation in 45 states, the US Virgin Islands, British Columbia and Puerto Rico and the tickets are priced at $2 each.
The drawings are held three times in a week, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
