A lottery ticket whose worth was estimated at $61 million was sold in Laguna Hills, at a 7-Eleven.
The winning numbers which were drawn on Friday, were 6-13-18-20-31 with 13 as the mega number. The ticket matched all six numbers. The store which was located at 27001 Moulton Parkway received the whopping sum of $305,000 as a retailer bonus from another lottery fund for retailing the ticket.
If you have the winning ticket, it is recommended by the California Lottery that you sign the back in ink, kept in a secure location and contact Lottery officials or go to the Lottery District Offices nearest to you.
In a statement, California Lottery said that although Monday would be the first day that ticket holders could go to the California Lottery to lay claim to their prize, the winner will have a year from the date of the draw to claim his jackpot.
The ticket holder has the choice of collecting his prize money in annual payments that can be spread out over thirty years, which means that there will be less to pay in federal taxes, or paying an upfront amount that is approximately $37.3 million.
It is the 2nd time this year that California is home to a Mega Millions jackpot. Jack Freney won the jackpot of $191 million Mega Millions in January with a ticket that was bought in Nipton, California.
