The Irish Lotto draw was conducted on Saturday, November 5th, 2022, which saw a lucky punter from Cork win big, as they took home the biggest prize on the night.
The prize
The lucky player participated in Saturday night’s draw online and was able to match the five main numbers, along with the bonus number, in the main lotto draw.
This allowed them to walk away with a sum of €142,616. The online player managed to come the closest to hitting the Lotto numbers for this week.
The winning numbers that were drawn on Saturday night were 08, 12, 18, 20, 23, 43 and 25 was the bonus number.
The jackpot for the night was €3.9 million, but no one was able to match the numbers needed to win it. Nonetheless, the lucky Rebel would undoubtedly be delighted with their impressive win.
The draw
Even though the draw on Saturday night did not see any player win the grand prize of €3,973,425, there were still a total of 104,000 players who took home prizes from the Irish Lotto draw.
The next draw is now scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022, and it will now have a jackpot of €4.2 million.
The National Lottery made the announcement about no jackpot winners and also about the lucky winner who landed the €142,616 prize.
According to a spokesperson for the National Lottery, they had already sent an email to notify the lucky player about their win.
They encouraged all Irish Lotto players from Cork to check their email, or their online lottery accounts to see if they were the winner and then get in touch with their prize claims team via phone or email.
Other winners
Meanwhile, the €1 million prize winners from the Daily Millions draw last week on Thursday from Co. Mayo finally came forward.
It turned out to be a retirement group comprising of 47 members, who will visit the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin this week for collecting their prize.
The syndicate will see players collect €21,000 each from their welcome and unexpected windfall. The Young Heart Club’s spokesman, Michael Cosgrove said that this was a nice cash boost with Christmas coming around.
He is the syndicate’s ‘bagman’, which means that he collects €1 from all syndicate members every week and has been doing so for five years.
He personally chose the combination of numbers and buys a Daily Millions ticket every week from the Turlough Stores that is operated by Michael Barrett with his family.
This is the first big win for the syndicate comprising of senior citizens. Cosgrove said that they had had little wins, but this was the biggest and he was delighted for everyone.
He added that even though they had had lean pickings, the syndicate had remained patient.
