According to the Florida Lottery officials, the winner of the Powerball game is Raymond Wynne who is a 63-year-old resident from Venice. The player had purchased a ticket for the Powerball game who draw was held on December 12, 2020.

The lottery officials have confirmed that although the prize is from December, it is just recently when the winner approached Florida Lottery. As per the reports, the winner had secured the prize-winning ticket at the Tampa District Office’s dropbox.

For matching all five lucky numbers on the ticket, the player ended up winning $2 million from the lucky Powerball lottery ticket. The officials have confirmed that the only number that the ticket missed was the Powerball number. If the ticket had managed to match the Powerball number, it would have ended up winning the Jackpot.

According to the officials, Wynne had purchased the prize-winning ticket from Publix. The Publix store is situated at 535 Tamiami Trail South (Venice). It has been revealed that the store will also be receiving a $5,000 bonus commission for selling the lucky ticket.

The winner of the $2 million prizes revealed why it took him so long to come up and claim the prize. The player informed that after he purchased the ticket from the store, he brought it back home and completely forgot about it.

The player stated that he is not a regular lottery player but had to purchase it because all of his friends purchased one. As none of the friends were lottery regulars, they forgot about the ticket the next day and never thought about it even for once.

The player informed that the friends only gather after a month or two so they were sitting together just a few days back. That is when one of his friends found the ticket in his pocket so they all decided to go ahead and check theirs.

Wynne informed the officials that he went straight for the ticket the second he arrived back at home. The player stated that he was shocked to see that he had won a huge prize although he had not hoped for it at all.
