Jeff stated that he is the luckiest man to have followed his heart that day as he ended up winning a million dollars.
He stated that as soon as he got home, he scratched off the ticket only to find out that he had actually won the jackpot. The player told the lottery management that he always wondered how it would feel to win a jackpot prize.
The player told that now he knows how it feels to become a millionaire in a matter of seconds.
As per the Virginia Lottery, Jeff Journell had two options when he went to the lottery office to claim the prize. He could either receive the $1 million prize with an annuity of 30 years or he could go for the lump sum amount of $601,684.
The Virginia lottery informed that the owner of the store will also be receiving bonus commission for selling the prize winning ticket. The lottery confirmed that the store owner of the A-1 Food Mart will be receiving a $10,000 bonus commission for selling the ticket.
Mr. Journell informed the media that he has already retired from his current job. He has also confirmed that he currently has no special plans of how he is going to spend his winnings.
