The Powerball Lottery (Australia) is here with a huge announcement in regards to the prize money for the upcoming draw. The AUS Powerball Lottery has revealed that the upcoming draw it is going to hold has just become a mega draw for the running year.
The lottery officials have revealed that the Powerball Lottery draw has just reached a jackpot prize of $80 million, which is the highest jackpot prize AUS Powerball has reached for this year.
The lottery officials are extremely excited about the upcoming draw that is set to take place on Thursday, August 12, 2021. The officials have revealed that it is going to be the draw number 1317 for the AUS Powerball in Australia.
One of the most prominent things about the upcoming draw is that it is going to be the largest draw offered for any lottery game in Australia for the year 2021 so far.
The reason behind the jackpot prize growing so high is because no lucky player was able to win the division one prize in Thursday’s, August 5, 2021 lottery draw. The jackpot prize for the particular draw was held on August 5th was $60 million.
However, not a single player in the particular draw was able to win the division one prize, thus, taking home $60 million. However, there are seven lucky players who won division two prize money. Each player winning the division two prize money took home $130,228.2, totaling an amount of $911,597.40.
As no player managed to win the division one prize money this week’s Thursday, therefore, the amount has rolled over. However, $20 million more have been added to the jackpot prize making it an $80 million mega draw prize.
Now, the players would be playing for the $80 million jackpot on Thursday’s draw, which is to be held on August 12, 2021.
The lottery officials have also revealed the prizes that the players have won from the August 5th draw. As per the lottery officials, from division 2 to division 9, a total of $32.9 million worth of prizes were given out. The $32.9 million worth of prizes was distributed among 1,852,570 players.
The lucky numbers that the lottery officials drew for the August 5th draw were 21, 10, 11, 7, 12, 25, and 16. Among the rest of the numbers, the jackpot prize-winning number was 18, which is called the red Powerball.
So far, the highest jackpot prize won for the AUS Powerball Lottery in the running year has been for $40 million. That prize was won and split between two lucky winners where the first player was from Smithfield and the other one from Campbelltown. The jackpot prize for $40 million was won back in April of 2021.
