The Mega Millions lottery draw was conducted on Friday, October 21st, 2022 and had a jackpot of $30 million that came with a cash value of $14.9 million.
Grand prize rolls over
The winning numbers that were picked in Friday night’s Mega Millions lottery draw were 34, 36, 43, 45 and 68, with 22 being the gold Mega Ball and 2X as the Megaplier.
However, it turns out that no one was able to match the numbers needed to take home the grand prize, which means that it will now roll over to the upcoming draw.
The next Mega Millions lottery draw will now occur on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 and it will have a jackpot of about $45 million.
Other Winners
Unfortunately, not only were there no grand prize winners in the Friday night draw of the Mega Millions lottery, there were no instant millionaires either.
This means that none of the lottery players were able to hit the Match 5 that would have allowed them to walk away with $1 million.
If these players would have chosen to play the Megaplier, they would have doubled their winnings to $2 million.
But, none managed to do so. However, there were six lucky players who did manage to hit the Match 4 and the gold Mega Ball. This meant that they were able to secure a prize of $10,000 each.
There was also one lucky player who not only hit the Match 4 and the gold Mega Ball, but also chose to buy the 2X Megaplier. Therefore, their winnings on the night amounted to $20,000.
The other people who walked away with prizes in Friday night’s Mega Millions lottery draw were able to take home somewhere between $2 and $1,000.
Jackpot wins
Mega Millions lottery was finally able to break its no-jackpot win streak last week when two players were able to match the numbers needed to win the $454 million jackpot.
One player was from California and the other turned out to be from Hurricane Ian-battered Florida, who would be splitting the massive prize.
Jackpot winners have the option of claiming their winnings as a lump sum, or they can choose the annuity option.
The latter involves getting one payment immediately and then receiving 29 payments annually that increase 5%.
The Mega Millions lottery draw is played two times a week, on Tuesday and Friday and people from 45 states, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia can play.
