The Mega Millions lottery draw was scheduled for Tuesday, September 27th and had a jackpot of $325 million on offer, which came with a cash value of $168.1 million.
No jackpot winners
The numbers that were drawn on Tuesday night for the Mega Millions lottery were 08, 14, 24, 43 and 51, while 09 was the gold Mega Ball and 3X was the Megaplier.
Unfortunately, the draw did not yield any winners for the massive jackpot on Tuesday, which means that the grand prize will now roll over to the next draw.
The next Mega Millions lottery drawing is scheduled for Friday, September 30th and this will have a huge jackpot of $355 million, which also comes with a cash option of $183.6 million.
Other winners
Another disappointing news associated with Tuesday night’s Mega Millions lottery drawing was that there were no instant millionaires for the night.
This is because none of the players were able to hit the Match 5 that would have helped them win $1 million and if they had chosen to play it with the Megaplier, their winnings would have reached $3 million.
But, just because there were no millionaires does not mean that there were no winners at all. There were numerous players who managed to snag smaller prize wins from the latest Mega Millions lottery draw.
A total of 12 lucky players were able to hit the Match 4 and also the gold Mega Ball, which meant that they won $10,000 each.
However, there were only three lucky players who had also chosen to play the Megaplier, so their winnings were tripled to reach $30,000 each.
As for the other wins on Tuesday night, they were between $2 and $1,500.
Previous drawing
The latest lottery game comes after the drawing on Friday night saw a convenience store located in South Carolina sell a lottery ticket for the Mega Millions worth $50,000.
The ticket had been bought for the draw on Friday, September 23rd, in Columbia at the Shiv Food Mart.
The lucky player hit the Match 4, as well as the Mega Ball and had also chosen to play the Megaplier, which was 5X for the draw.
This meant that their $10,000 win was increased to a whopping $50,000. Once the winner comes forward to claim the prize, a $500 bonus would be given to Shiv Food Mart for selling the winning ticket.
Jackpot winners in the Mega Millions lottery have the option of claiming their prize as a lump sum, or they can go with an annuity.
The latter means that they receive one payment immediately and the rest in 29 annual payments that are increased each year by 5%.
There are currently 45 states in the US where people can participate in the Mega Millions lottery and also from the US Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
