The Mega Millions lottery draw conducted on Friday night, August 19th, had a jackpot worth $99 million and it came with a cash value of $56 million.
Jackpot rolls over
However, there was no winner for the jackpot on Friday night’s draw, which means it has now rolled over.
The winning numbers for the Mega Millions drawing were 12, 18, 24, 46 and 65 with 3 being the gold Mega Ball. As for the Megaplier, it stood at 4X.
Now that the grand prize was unclaimed on Friday night, it will roll over to Tuesday night’s draw. This means that the Mega Millions draw on August 23rd will be valued at $116 million and have a cash value of $65.6 million.
This latest jackpot in the Mega Millions lottery comes as a winning ticket worth $1 million will expire next month in New York City.
The ticket had been purchased for the drawing conducted in 2021 on September 28th and was bought in Inwood at the Broadway Newsstand.
The ticket had managed to hit the Match 5, but not the gold Mega Ball. The winning numbers for the said draw were 18, 30, 43, 68 and 69.
The player can claim their prize until September 28th, 2022. Mega Millions grand prize winners have the option of receiving their prize as a lump-sum payment, or as an annuity.
Those who go with the latter get one payment immediately and then receive 29 annual payments that go up by 5% each year.
Other prizes
While there may not have been any winners for the grand prize, there were a number of smaller monetary prizes that were paid out in Friday night’s draw of the Mega Millions lottery.
There was a lucky player from Iowa who managed to hit the Match 5, which allowed them to walk away with a prize of $1 million.
Had they also opted to play the Megaplier, their prize would have increased to $4 million. There were also 14 players who were able to hit the Match 4 and the Mega Ball in the draw.
This allowed them to win prizes of $10,000 each. There were also three players who opted to play the Megaplier and hit the Match 4 and Mega Ball. Thus, their winnings were $40,000 each.
The remaining prizes in the Mega Millions draw where between $2 and $2,000.
