An announcement from the California Lottery disclosed that a ticket that was bought at a Mid-Wilshire pharmacy is worth $7,727,088. The ticket for the multi-state Mega Millions lottery had matched five numbers in the latest draw, but was missing the Mega number. As per California law, the major prizes of lottery games are given out on a pari-mutuel basis.
Mega Millions Winner
Two tickets that matched five numbers, but not the Mega number, were also sold in Texas and Florida and the players won $2 million each. This is because they took advantage of the Megaplier option, which costs $1. The Multi-State Lottery Association, which operates the lottery, said that this means that the Megaplier number will be multiplied with a non-jackpot prize.
Lottery Draw
Since no tickets were sold that matched all six numbers in the Mega Millions draw, it means that the drawing on Tuesday will see its prize grow to $290 million and the cash option will be 162.1 million. On Friday, the winning lottery numbers were 20, 36, 53, 56, 69 and 16 was the Mega number. The jackpot had stood at $273 million. This is the 18th draw that has had no jackpot winner. The Mega Millions lottery is played in about 45 states of the US, along with the US Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
