There were no winners for the Powerball jackpot worth $49.6 million on Saturday, August 13th, which had a cash option of $28.7 million.
The winning numbers for the lottery draw on Saturday were 19, 24, 35, 43 and 62 the 2 was the Powerball number. 10X was the Power Play.
Powerball jackpot grows
As there were no winners of the grand prize in the drawing on Saturday night, it means that the jackpot for Monday night’s draw has now grown.
The draw on Monday, August 15th, will have a jackpot of $56 million and it will come with a cash option of about $32.5 million.
This latest jackpot comes after a $50,000 prize was claimed by a lottery player in Missouri from the draw conducted on July 30th.
The ticket had been bought by the lucky player in Independence from Zedz convenience store. The player managed to match four of the five main numbers, along with the Powerball number.
They claimed their prize at the lottery’s regional office in Kansas City. In order to win the grand prize, players are required to match all six numbers drawn.
Five numbers have to be chosen between 1 and 69, while the Powerball number is selected from 1 to 26.
Other winnings
While Saturday’s draw may not have seen a grand prize winner, there were other lottery players who managed to snag the smaller monetary prizes in the drawing over the weekend.
One of the Powerball players was able to become an instant millionaire. Hailing from New Hampshire, the ticketholder managed to hit the Match 5 and walked away with $1 million.
Had they also opted for the Power Play with the Match 5, their prize would have increased to $2 million.
Apart from that, there were eight people who managed to hit the Match 4 plus the Powerball number, allowing them to walk away with $50,000 each.
There was also another lucky player who walked away with a six-figure prize. The player snagged a prize of $500,000, as they managed to hit the Match 4, plus the Powerball number and also the 10X Power Play.
There were approximately 424,082 players who were able to win prizes in the Saturday night draw of the Powerball lottery. These prizes ranged between $1 and $4,000.
