The Powerball lottery draw was conducted on Wednesday, September 21st, and it had a jackpot of about $251.6 million that came with a cash option of $135.6 million.
Jackpot climbs
Unfortunately, there were no winners of the jackpot on Wednesday night’s draw of the Powerball lottery, which means that the jackpot will now continue to grow for the next draw.
The winning numbers that were drawn on Wednesday night were 06, 33, 34, 45 and 54, while 7 was the Powerball number and 2X was the Power Play.
The next drawing of the Powerball lottery will now take place on Saturday, September 24th and since the jackpot has rolled over, it will now be valued at $270 million that has a cash value of $145.5 million.
In order to take home the jackpot, Powerball players are required to match all six numbers that are drawn.
Other winners
Even though there were no grand prize winners on Wednesday night, it doesn’t mean that there were no winners at all in the Powerball draw.
The draw on Wednesday did not see any instant millionaires, which would have happened if they were able to hit the Match 5, as it would have resulted in a win of $1 million.
Likewise, if they had hit the Match 5 and also gone with the Power Play option, then their winnings would have doubled to $2 million.
There were no million-dollar wins in Wednesday night’s drawing, but there were a number of smaller monetary prizes that were won in the Powerball lottery.
A total of four players were able to hit the Match 4 as well as the Powerball number, so they won a prize of $50,000 each.
There was also one player who managed to hit the Match 4 and the Powerball number and had also chosen the Power Play option, so their winnings amounted to $100,000.
The rest of the prizes for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing were between $4 and $200. The total number of players who took home prizes from Wednesday’s draw were 476,560.
Texas winner
The latest draw of the Powerball lottery comes after a player from Texas finally claimed their prize worth $1 million.
The player had won the prize in the Powerball lottery draw conducted on September 12th and it was a quick pick ticket that was bought in New Braunfels at the CT Mart.
The winner had been able to match five numbers in the draw, but chose not to reveal their identity when claiming the prize.
The odds of winning the Powerball lottery are 1 in 29.2 million and lottery draws are conducted every week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
