The Powerball lottery draw was conducted on Wednesday, September 14th, which had a jackpot of $207.1 million and it had a cash option of $113 million.
Jackpot rolls over
Unfortunately, there was no winner for the jackpot in Wednesday night’s draw of the Powerball lottery, which means that it will now roll over for the next draw.
The winning numbers that were drawn on Wednesday night were 09, 10, 20, 22 and 52, while 25 was the Powerball number and 3X was the Power Play.
As the latest jackpot has not been claimed, it is now rolled over to the next Powerball draw, which is for Saturday, September 17th.
The jackpot for Saturday night’s draw of the Powerball lottery will now be $225 million and it will come with a cash option of $122.7 million.
It should be noted that the Powerball lottery has not had a jackpot winner since the draw conducted on August 3rd, Wednesday, when a $209.6 million jackpot was claimed by a player from Pennsylvania.
Other winners
While the Powerball draw on Wednesday may not have had any grand prize winners, there were two players who managed to become instant millionaires.
This is because the two of them were able to hit the Match 5 and this allowed them to win a prize of $1 million each.
As the two players had not decided to go with the Power Play option, they missed the opportunity to see their winnings double to $2 million.
The two instant millionaires hailed from Massachusetts and Maryland. Other than these two, there were some other smaller prizes on Wednesday night.
There were a total of eleven players who were able to match four numbers, along with the Powerball number, which allowed them to walk away with $50,000 each.
Meanwhile, there were three players who were able to hit the Match 5, the Powerball number and had also opted for the Power Play option. This allowed them to win $150,000 each.
As for the remaining prizes for the night, they were between $4 and $300. Wednesday’s Powerball lottery draw saw a total of 393,633 players win prizes.
Other news
The latest jackpot comes after a $2 million prize was won by a player from Wisconsin for the Powerball drawing last Saturday.
The player had purchased the ticket in Darlington at the New Horizons Supply Coop and they had been able to match the five numbers, but not the Powerball.
However, since they had decided to go with the Power Play option, they were able to double their winnings.
In order to claim the jackpot, Powerball players have to match all six numbers, five of which are chosen from 1 and 69, while the Powerball number is chosen from 1 and 26.
The Powerball lottery draws are held each week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and there is a 1 in 292.2 million chance of winning the jackpot.
