The Powerball Lottery draw took place on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 and it had a jackpot of about $700 million that boasted a cash value of about $335.7 million.
This was the eighth largest grand prize in the history of the Powerball lottery.
No winner for the jackpot
The winning numbers that were drawn in Wednesday night’s Powerball lottery draw were 19, 36, 37, 46, 56 and 24 was the Powerball number. 2X was the Power Play.
Unfortunately, there was no winner for the big jackpot on Wednesday night in the Powerball lottery, which means that it will now be added to the grand prize of the upcoming draw.
The next draw is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 and it will have a jackpot of about $800 million, which has a cash option of $383.7 million.
This makes it the second-largest jackpot in the history of the Powerball lottery, after the jackpot of $1.586 billion. This billion dollar grand prize was the fifth-largest in the history of the US lottery.
Instant millionaires
While there may not have been any grand prize winners in the Powerball lottery draw on Wednesday night, there were people who managed to become instant millionaires.
There were a total of six players who were able to take home a prize of $1 million each because they were able to hit the Match 5.
These winners belonged to New York, Michigan, Illinois, Connecticut and two from California. Had these people opted for the Power Play option, their winnings would have doubled to $2 million each.
Smaller wins
Other than the instant millionaires on Wednesday night, there were also players who managed to take home smaller monetary prizes.
A total of 48 players were able to hit the Match 4 as well as the Powerball number, allowing them to win a prize of $50,000 each.
There were also 11 players who not only managed to hit the Match 4 and the Powerball number, but also chose the Power Play option. Therefore, they were able to double their winnings to $100,000 each.
The latest drawing saw a total of 2.1 million tickets take home prizes, which carried a total value of $21.1 million.
The jackpot on Wednesday was the 36th consecutive Powerball lottery draw that did not see any winner for the grand prize.
If the grand prize is claimed in the Powerball lottery draw on Saturday night, it would make it the sixth jackpot to have been won this year.
The jackpot winners are given the option of getting their prize in the form of a lump sum in which they get the cash value, or they can go for an annuity.
The Powerball lottery is played in 45 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands thrice a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
