The Mega Millions lottery drawing was conducted on Friday, September 16th and the jackpot was a massive $256 million that came with a cash option of $137.7 million.
No grand prize winner
The winning numbers for Friday night’s draw were 15, 30, 35, 38 and 66 with 12 being the gold Mega Ball and 4X was the Megaplier.
Unfortunately, the Mega Millions draw did not have a winner for the grand prize, which means that it will now be rolled over for the next one.
The next drawing of the Mega Millions lottery is now scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th and it will have a jackpot worth $277 million that will come with a cash value of $149 million.
Jackpot winners are given the option of claiming their prize as an annuity, in which they get one immediate payment and then 29 annual payments that increase by 5%.
They can also go with a lump sum payment, which would mean using the cash option that comes with the jackpot.
Other winners
Even though there may not have been any winners for the big prize in Friday night’s Mega Millions draw, there was an instant millionaire
One lucky player hailing from Indiana was able to match all five numbers, which allowed them to win a prize of $1 million.
Had they also chosen to go with the Megaplier option, they would have seen their winnings increase to $4 million.
Other than the only millionaire, there were a number other smaller monetary prizes that were also won in the drawing on Friday.
A total of 21 lottery players were able to match four numbers as well as the gold Mega Ball, which allowed them to win a prize of $10,000 each.
However, there were only three players who hit the Match 4, the gold Mega Ball and also opted for the Megaplier, which means that they walked away with $40,000 each.
The rest of the winners from the Mega Millions lottery on Friday night won prizes between $2 and $2,000.
Before this lottery jackpot, there were two lucky players from New Jersey who were able to win a prize of $10,000 each in the draw on Tuesday night.
The winning tickets were purchased in Long Beach at a Wawa and in Mullica Hill at Mullica Hill Supermarkets.
The Mega Millions lottery can be played in 45 states and also the Virgin Islands in the US and the District of Columbia.
